Visual Identity

Maricoco

Maricoco is my brand as an illustrator who creates handmade notebooks and scarves with pattern illustrations. The main target audience is young adults between 25-35 years old.

The brief was to create an identity system that represents the illustrator’s essence while making it adaptable over time. The goal was to ensure it could be applied to different collections and products.

To capture the brand's essence, I researched elements that are consistently present: women and flowers. In terms of technique, it was the use of lines as the foundation for the illustrations.

I created a set of illustrations combining these three elements and chose to make handmade illustrations using a brush and gouache paint.

I developed three color palettes with light colors as a base and a stronger version of the color as the highlight. Additionally, I selected a geometric, bold, and thick font to create a contrast with the delicate handmade illustrations.

The result is a visual identity that can be reused multiple times. I don’t have to reinvent the brand because different color variations can be used throughout time, providing the brand with a refreshing look. Simultaneously, it captures the character of the illustrator, maintaining consistency and recognition.
